Cameron was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in Febuary of 2008. After his tumor resection surgery, he underwent six weeks of radiation therapy and four months of chemotherapy. After these treatments, we went back into our "normal" lives and Cameron progressed well getting back into school and the day-to-day of being a little boy.

However, a routine MRI on March 19, 2010 showed his cancer had returned. On November 9th, 2011, Cameron finally conquered his battle with cancer when he opened his eyes to the joys of heaven. Even in these dark days, we know God has richly blessed us by putting so many wonderful people in our path during this journey and we are so very thankful for them all.

We're still at Duke

Just a quick update.  Cam has had some interesting times with his lips swelling up about twice their normal size, but he has kept the fever under control with the help of the antibiotics.  His platelets dropped low enough yesterday to require a transfusion and today his red cell counts were low enough to have yet another transfusion for those, so we've had the full first round of transfusions.  His platelets were better today, so hopefully they can stay up with the help of the kick start.  His white counts are still pretty much at zero...ok...0.1 (gotta find the positive I guess), so we're here until they see a "positive trending".  They're only taking labs once a day, so I don't see us leaving before Monday at the earliest, but I may be wrong.

His sprits are pretty good overall.  I don't think he knows the difference between being on or not being on contact isolation, so he really doesn't know what he doesn't know and doesn't seem to be upset about being in the room all the time.  We'll update again in a few days.

LeeAnn-- I e-mailed your mom today and she told me about Cameron. Where have i been? But as you should know when Tyler say's his prayers every night Preacher Paul and Family are always in them. He has been such a blessing to Tyler. I will never forget his time that he took to spend with my little boy when he had questions. And Tyler often talks about it to. How someone cared enough to take time out just for him. This is what these dr.'s and staff members are doing for ya'll also. So you have been in our prayers. I have also let our church family know so they will be praying for Cameron and all the family.
i have just finished reading your blog and Aunt Jan your right LeeAnn and her family does not even relize what a JOY & BLESSING they have been to me tonight just by reading this blog and relizing how much worse off we could be and need to be praising the Lord that we are as well as we are and for what we have. And i really needed to hear this tonight and i guess the Lord knew that I really needed to also. If there is anything i can do for you or for your family here please let me know. You have been a TRUE BLESSING TO ME through this blog tonight...You have so much STRENGHT and FAITH !!!!!!!

LeAnn, I know it is discouraging for you all and Cameron to be back undergoing even some "expected" side effects, but thankfully it seems that the doctors understand the side effects and are doing what needs to be done. Please know that so many people are praying and that GOD IS IN CONTROL! It helps to keep on remembering that, but I know you already know that. In your hard times as well as the victories, God is getting all the glory because you are looking to Him. Through your blog diary, we able to share the joys and the victories, so we can rejoice with you and give God the glory; and we are able to share the needs, so we can pray! Thank you, Aunt Jan
