I know there are many people wondering the results of Cameron's MRI. As feared, the results were not what we had hoped for. Many apologies for taking so long to post this update but we've just been clinging to each other and trying to digest the news. So many people have asked what they can do for us during this time and honestly what we need more than anything is prayer. Ernest and I firmly believe that God is walking with us, and especially Cameron, every step of the way. However, this doesn't mean we aren't hurting or that we understand God's plan for our son's life. Walking by faith is never easy, especially when the will of our Lord may not match the will of our hearts. So for now...just pray!
However, a routine MRI on March 19, 2010 showed his cancer had returned. On November 9th, 2011, Cameron finally conquered his battle with cancer when he opened his eyes to the joys of heaven. Even in these dark days, we know God has richly blessed us by putting so many wonderful people in our path during this journey and we are so very thankful for them all.

Well...the schedule has changed
Cam has been having headaches over the past week, so the scan he was supposed to get on January 3rd has been moved to tomorrow, December 23rd. LeAnn and I are obviously scared, nervous, concerned, nauseous, etc., so all prayers and positive thoughts are VERY welcome.
We’ll post news once we know it.

Haircut today
So the most amazing thing happened today. I had to take Cameron to get a haircut. Yes, a haircut. While it seems so trivial, seeing my son lose his hair twice has been one of the hardest things I have ever watched. I don't know if it is the sudden outward sign of "I'm sick" or the stares that accompany the event that make it so hard on a mom and dad's heart, but truly, it is such a difficult thing to stand by and watch. Over the past few weeks, I have seen his little head get fuzzier and fuzzier and today, I took him to get his hair trimmed up. When the lady asked "who is first?" Cameron jumped up and down and said "me me!" He sat there and smiled from ear to ear the whole time and I stood by and wondered if he was as happy for this little moment of "normal" as I was.
I will be honest, I wonder every day what Cameron must think about the situation he is in. Sometimes I look into his eyes when he is sick or staring at a plate full of more pills than most adults take in a month and my heart just breaks because I cannot imagine what he thinks of this situation. I begin to wonder "why Cameron, why Lord can you not give him a break" and then as always, it is Cameron who gets up and carries on with life, laughing and smiling and playing and I realize that whatever I worry about, Cameron does not. God, in His power, has obviously covered Cameron with grace sufficient to face this journey. Cameron lives for today as we all should. It's interesting...moms and dads are suppose to teach their children about life but the reverse has happened in the Jackson house. For it is Cameron who has taught Ernest and I what living is all about.
We wish everyone a wonderful Christmas. Love to you all!

Christmas Blessings...
While LeAnn and I obviously wish things were different with Cameron, we still know we’re so very blessed to have both of our wonderful sons, our family, and our friends around us during this Christmas season. Back in March, we honestly didn’t know how long we would have with Cameron, but thanks to Dr. G, the medicines available to Cam, and most importantly…Our Heavenly Father, we were able to do so much and create so many wonderful memories over these past nine months and those memories will last a lifetime for us all.
LeAnn and I have finally come to a point where we have had to truly realize we all have a limited time on this Earth and there are no guarantees for tomorrow, so you live your life the best you can each day and never take even a second for granted. We both have heard this our entire lives growing up in church as we did in regards to our spiritual status, but you still take it for granted until you’re faced with a true life and death situation as we’ve faced over the past two plus years. We’re no great philosophers, religious experts, or anything else along those lines and would never presume to tell anyone else how to live, but one word of advice we would give…especially during this special time of the year when we’ll all be around family…cherish those you love all day, every day…even when they’re making you the angriest or driving you absolutely crazy.
We pray you all will have a VERY Merry Christmas and a blessed 2011. Cam’s next scan is scheduled for January 3rd, so if you don’t hear back before then…we’ll post with the results as soon as we get them.

Round 10 has begun
The time goes by so quickly between rounds now…I cannot believe it’s time again already. Cam’s appetite has been better, with the help of meds, but the side effect is if he doesn’t eat regularly, he gets a terrible headache and nausea, so it’s a balancing act now with the chemo meds since they have time restrictions on when you can eat and take the meds. Hopefully he can make it through the week without too many bad times.
All else is pretty quiet, so not much to report this time around.
