We're Home!

Praise the Lord…we are finally home.  After waiting around all morning to be discharged, the big moment finally happened and we walked through the doors here around noon.  Cameron was elated to be back at home and has been in the best mood.  They told us to expect him to have a low energy level but so far, Action Jackson is as bright eyed and energetic as the day we left.  He requested Chick-fil-A for lunch which I was a bit hesitant to go and get.  But he begged and I gave in.  To much surprise, he ate all the chicken, some of the fries and just rubbed his belly remarking “yum yum, that is good in my tummy.”  LOL!  We are all just praising God for carrying us through this week.  We expected a lot worse than what we got and we know that is a direct result of the prayers which were lifted up for Cam.  As with every trip to Duke, Cameron left the hospital with a long list of admirers among the staff.  At Duke however, he is “Action”, not Cameron.  The Neuro-oncologist taking care of him this week while Dr. G was out of town was on a different floor of the hospital and another doctor came and asked him our “Action” was doing.  Too funny!  Now we sit and pray we get through round one without the fever which will put us back in the hospital.  If that happens, it will be 7-10 days from when his chemo was given.  But, I’m not thinking of that now because today, we are rejoicing that round one is complete, we are home, and he is feeling great.  One round down, three to go!  Our praises to Christ who is the greatest physician of all!
