Cameron was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in Febuary of 2008. After his tumor resection surgery, he underwent six weeks of radiation therapy and four months of chemotherapy. After these treatments, we went back into our "normal" lives and Cameron progressed well getting back into school and the day-to-day of being a little boy.



However, a routine MRI on March 19, 2010 showed his cancer had returned. On November 9th, 2011, Cameron finally conquered his battle with cancer when he opened his eyes to the joys of heaven. Even in these dark days, we know God has richly blessed us by putting so many wonderful people in our path during this journey and we are so very thankful for them all.

We're coming home...finally!

Over the past few days, we have watched Cameron’s white blood count slowly, and minutely, rise.  Well, early this morning, I was awakened by a phone call from a very ecstatic Ernest because Cameron’s labs had come back and his numbers had really shot up over the past twenty-four hours.  YEAH!  So, when Dr. G came by, he gave us the good news that Cameron was heading home.   Praise God!  It has been a very long week; sitting and waiting for labs to change.  While he isn’t completely out of neutropenia, his ANC is up considerably.  However, we will still have to be really careful for a few more days.  But for now, he is coming home and we are going to savor the next week together as a family.  Unfortunately, a week from Sunday, we check in for Round 2 and the whole process begins again.  Oh well, the story of our life at the moment.  I’m off to Duke to pick up my boys.  We’ll be in touch soon!

LeAnn, I am so happy! Such a turn around. Prayers are working! So many are praying and thanks to you and Ernest, we can pray specific prayers. I do NOT know what neutropenia is but I KNOW God does, so that is my prayer today; that Cameron will be completely out of neutropenia so your family can have a restful and happy week off!
