Cameron was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in Febuary of 2008. After his tumor resection surgery, he underwent six weeks of radiation therapy and four months of chemotherapy. After these treatments, we went back into our "normal" lives and Cameron progressed well getting back into school and the day-to-day of being a little boy.

However, a routine MRI on March 19, 2010 showed his cancer had returned. On November 9th, 2011, Cameron finally conquered his battle with cancer when he opened his eyes to the joys of heaven. Even in these dark days, we know God has richly blessed us by putting so many wonderful people in our path during this journey and we are so very thankful for them all.

Round One of Chemo Complete!

With a very happy heart I write this update.  The first round of Cameron’s chemotherapy is complete.  And to much surprise, he handled things…well “beautifully”, to quote the doctor.  If I am counting correctly, I think he only threw up a total of six times over the course of the three days; absolutely amazing for the regiment which he is on.  He actually had no sickness today and even ate a bit of a pop tart and some ice cream this evening.  As with everything, he seems to be taking it in stride.  He has yet to cry, complain, or even question why this is occurring.  He is very inquisitive as to what the nurses are doing but all in all he is the perfect little patient.  He has enjoyed pressing the nurse button to which he politely explains his needs.  It is the cutest thing to hear.  Tomorrow will be a day of strictly fluids and then Friday will be his stem cell reinfusion.  If all is well, we all head home on Saturday.  Thank you all for your prayers.  The Lord has been so good to us over the past few months and especially the past few days.  We were expecting very intense days; however, the week thus far has been pretty uneventful.  I was up and down with him all last night so I’m off to bed for a few hours of rest.  Praise God…we made it through round one!

LeAnn,

Just talked to Aunt Sara, Uncle James and Paul. I learned of Cameron's illness. They told me how to get on the blog......so I will read it from time to time.
Just wanted you to know that I am thinking about you and Cameron....as you go on the journey. I am encouraged because surgery was possible as often it is not.....You are in my thoughts and prayers. Our preacher said that God will give you the strength you need to get through today....and that is all you should worry him with. When the future comes, he will give you that strength also. Marion
