Cameron was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in Febuary of 2008. After his tumor resection surgery, he underwent six weeks of radiation therapy and four months of chemotherapy. After these treatments, we went back into our "normal" lives and Cameron progressed well getting back into school and the day-to-day of being a little boy.
However, a routine MRI on March 19, 2010 showed his cancer had returned. On November 9th, 2011, Cameron finally conquered his battle with cancer when he opened his eyes to the joys of heaven. Even in these dark days, we know God has richly blessed us by putting so many wonderful people in our path during this journey and we are so very thankful for them all.
Just a quick update as I’m heading off to bed and LeAnn is staying with Cam tonight. He handled today very well as he only had one episode of nausea to the extent of vomiting. The nurse today actually said the med from yesterday sometimes takes 24-48 hours to really kick up the nausea, so he might have been dealing with some of that on top of today’s med.
Tomorrow’s med is the same as today, so if he stays true to form from today, he should have a good day tomorrow, then nothing on Thursday, and we’ve had multiple people say the Stemcell reinfusion is anticlimactic, so hopefully round one of Chemo will go in the books as a “good” week. The oncologist covering for Dr. G seemed very upbeat on how well he was doing and somewhat inferred it might be a good sign for the upcoming rounds as well…we’ll definitely pray for that to come true.
