Cameron was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in Febuary of 2008. After his tumor resection surgery, he underwent six weeks of radiation therapy and four months of chemotherapy. After these treatments, we went back into our "normal" lives and Cameron progressed well getting back into school and the day-to-day of being a little boy.

However, a routine MRI on March 19, 2010 showed his cancer had returned. On November 9th, 2011, Cameron finally conquered his battle with cancer when he opened his eyes to the joys of heaven. Even in these dark days, we know God has richly blessed us by putting so many wonderful people in our path during this journey and we are so very thankful for them all.

Wonderful weekend

We had an exciting weekend. A sweet lady in our church bought tickets to the NASCAR race in Richmond and while we weren't sure if Cameron would be able to make the trip, he did. It was a little uncomfortable for him riding such a distance in the car but his excitement for the race got him through it. We arrived in Richmond on Saturday in time for him to take a nap in the hotel before heading to the track. Thankfully it was a night race and therefore, much cooler on Cameron. We walked around looking for cars...of course...for Cameron to add to his collection. With the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, several of the drivers had special paint designs, and cars, to honor those who lost their lives and those who continue to serve our country. So needless to say, we had fun looking for all the special cars. We knew Cameron wouldn't last the whole race but surprisingly, he lasted until about lap 100 when he was ready to go. We returned home on Sunday and just thanked God for the time we had together.

It's been three weeks since we removed Cameron's steroids and miraculously, he hasn't had a headache in over a week. He is still struggling with his mobility and at times with his speech but for the most part, he is doing rather well. It is wonderful to hear him laugh and make silly jokes again. He will have another MRI on October 3rd in attempts to figure out what is going on with his disease. While I'm not sure what God's plan is, I sure am thankful for this unexpected and precious time He is giving us with Cameron right now. Love to you all.
