Cameron was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in Febuary of 2008. After his tumor resection surgery, he underwent six weeks of radiation therapy and four months of chemotherapy. After these treatments, we went back into our "normal" lives and Cameron progressed well getting back into school and the day-to-day of being a little boy.

However, a routine MRI on March 19, 2010 showed his cancer had returned. On November 9th, 2011, Cameron finally conquered his battle with cancer when he opened his eyes to the joys of heaven. Even in these dark days, we know God has richly blessed us by putting so many wonderful people in our path during this journey and we are so very thankful for them all.

Wonderful time and even MORE wonderful friends

We had a blast at Disney and Cam held up pretty well considering how much walking we did. He had one bad morning where he felt very poorly, but overall he was a trooper…as always. My cousin and her two daughters came up and visited the first two days and we all went to the Wonder Works museum and explored all the different things it had to offer. After the adventures in the museum portion, Cam played Skee ball and other video games while Connor, Lauren, and Alex did the ropes course above us. We could see them as they moved through the course.

Sunday evening, we went to the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in the Magic Kingdom. This was a special party which allowed only those with tickets to the event to be in the park, so we were able to see the Christmas Parade and get all the free cookies and hot chocolate we wanted. Although drinking hot chocolate in 70 degree weather just seems a bit off, but whatever…it was still fun. LeAnn, Connor, and I rode Space Mountain a couple times, so it was a good mix of little kid and big kid fun for all of us.

Monday we went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to see the Playhouse Disney characters and let LeAnn, Connor, and I ride the roller coaster with the Aerosmith theme…can’t remember the name of it, but it starts out going from 0 to 60 mph in about two seconds, so you get the rush right out of the gate on that one.

We came home today and as we pulled around the corner, we could see a yard full of Christmas decorations that friends of Cam from school as well as neighbors had taken the time to purchase and set up for us as a welcome home surprise. Needless to say, we were all speechless and Cam was beyond excited and ran inside to get his camera to take pictures of it all. I think this is just another instance of what has been the most inspiring thing about this journey our family has been through…we’ve never been alone for one step of it. We have had SO much support from our friends and neighbors, who most definitely are in the friend category as well, it would bring even a grumpy old man like me to tears. Simply saying “Thank you” would never be enough, but please know you all are SO special to us and I have no doubt your good deeds and love shown to us will be rewarded.

I’ve posted a few pics of the entire weekend just to the left, so click on them and they’ll bring up a new browser window to see them easier.
