Toothless Action!

Even though we have six weeks off from Duke, these six weeks have been filled with appointments that needed to take place before the start of chemotherapy; one being the dentist. Me, being the overly precautious person I am, questioned the dentist a couple of weeks ago about whether or not we should go ahead and pull Cameron loose teeth before his treatments began; ensuring he wouldn’t lose them on a day when his counts were low. Turns out, both Dr. Elliott and Dr. G agreed that we should go ahead and have his loose teeth removed so that his gums would have time to heal before the beginning of his chemotherapy. So yesterday, Cameron’s two front teeth came out! Even though he will be seven in July, these were his first teeth to fall out. Cameron, being the champ he is, just laid there and handled the procedure well and by noon, he was already asking for chewy chocolate chip cookies and ice cream sandwiches. Of course now, we are getting lots of giggles listening to his funny sounding words and admiring his new smile. As you can imagine, he was so excited about the first visit from the tooth fairy; a visit which brought forth a new car and some money. Enjoy the picture of the new toothless Action!
