Cameron was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in Febuary of 2008. After his tumor resection surgery, he underwent six weeks of radiation therapy and four months of chemotherapy. After these treatments, we went back into our "normal" lives and Cameron progressed well getting back into school and the day-to-day of being a little boy.
However, a routine MRI on March 19, 2010 showed his cancer had returned. On November 9th, 2011, Cameron finally conquered his battle with cancer when he opened his eyes to the joys of heaven. Even in these dark days, we know God has richly blessed us by putting so many wonderful people in our path during this journey and we are so very thankful for them all.
Well, a couple of weeks ago, Ernest won several tickets to the NASCAR All-Star race in Charlotte. So on Saturday, we packed up the car and headed to the race track. We knew it would be a long day for Cam so we missed some of the early festivities of the day. We ended up arriving at the track around four o’clock and of course, had to immediately go find Action a new Dale Earnhardt Jr. racecar and hat. The start of the race was extremely loud and at 200mph, it was hard for Cameron to follow the cars so he stuck to the hand-held FanView scanner. He got tired toward the end of the race and actually fell asleep in the stands; how, with the noise, I do not know. All in all, it was a fun day. Enjoy the picture.
