Cameron was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in Febuary of 2008. After his tumor resection surgery, he underwent six weeks of radiation therapy and four months of chemotherapy. After these treatments, we went back into our "normal" lives and Cameron progressed well getting back into school and the day-to-day of being a little boy.

However, a routine MRI on March 19, 2010 showed his cancer had returned. On November 9th, 2011, Cameron finally conquered his battle with cancer when he opened his eyes to the joys of heaven. Even in these dark days, we know God has richly blessed us by putting so many wonderful people in our path during this journey and we are so very thankful for them all.

Celebration service for Cameron

Celebration Services for Cameron will be as follows:

Visitation on Saturday, November 12 from 6-9pm at Apex Funeral Home.

Celebration Service (and yes we will be celebrating) will be on Sunday, November 13 at 3pm in the Salem Worship Center. Please dress vibrantly (Cameron's favorite color was red). If you desire, bring a small toy which will be distributed during the Christmas season to the children at Duke Hospital in memory of Cameron.

There will also be a visitation service on Monday, November 14 from 6-9 at McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral home in Cornelia, Georgia.

It's been a day since my little Cam left for Heaven. My heart hurts. My tears flow. Laughter abounds as I remember his funny moments. Peace fills my soul as I am assured he is without pain. It's so hard to honor the Lord in the midst of grieving. I'm trying. We're trying. But it's so hard...

My dear sweet friend. My heart aches for you. I know I don't have any words that can comfort you, but I want you to know that we love you and your family and that we will continue to lift you up in prayer.

This song, "Praise You In This Storm", is always a comfort to me.

Our most heartfelt condolences to your family. I have a few sweet memories of Cam in the Salem cafeteria of him swinging his little legs that could barely reach the floor, raising his hand asking for a napkin or asking for help opening something from his lunch box, being so polite and sweet, or bouncing down the hallway with his hat on his head and smile on his face, and how touching it was to see all the shaved heads at the pool the day after St. Baldrick’s.

Your words have been inspiring and have touched the hearts and lives of so many. I will forever be grateful to your family for sharing this chapter in your lives for it has truly touched my heart in a way I never thought possible. May your memories of Cam, your Faith in God, and the love and support that surround your family comfort you in the days ahead.

With sympathy,
Shaun, Jamie, Owen, and Justin Livernois

Because of my daughter and granddaughter, Melissa and Emily D., I feel as though I knew your beautiful son. They each expressed their love for him and told me of his love for the Lord. Your blogs have been so incredibly inspirational. Thank you for sharing from your heart. Please know that many - even some in Indianapolis - have prayed for Cam and will continue to pray for you and your family. May He grant you peace and assurance until someday you will meet Cam in heaven. We can only imagine what heaven will be like - Cam knows.

Our hearts sincerely go out to all of your family right now. Can't even pretend to imagine what you are going through and have already gone through. I just looked through pictures and listened to Cameron singing "My wish" on G105 and laughed and cried. What a sweet sweet boy he is. Been wearing my red today thinking about him and all of you. My kids were surprised to see me in red and asked why I was wearing it (red in my wardrobe is reserved for my work days at Target = ) We talked about Cameron and they looked at all the great pictures you have posted. Thank you for openly sharing your lives through the most difficult of times. May God hold you tightly so that you can feel Him with you.
Love, Jenny Minor

What a beautiful "celebration" of the life of Cameron yesterday. GOD's mercy and strength was already shining through this difficult time. We have a lot of "whys" in this life but Cameron left a lot of "WOWs" with his attitude on life. Surely GOD had anointed this brave little boy, so that many could be encouraged and reflect on the life that we have and how we should be living that life. May HIS Peace be sufficient and HIS love overflowing in the days ahead.
In His Love,
John, Tammy, Brittany & Trey

Heartfelt sorrow for all your family is going through. Cameron has the face of an Angel and now will surely be one.

May God's peace be with you and your family. You had an Angel with you on earth...but he will forever be in your soul.
