Cameron was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in Febuary of 2008. After his tumor resection surgery, he underwent six weeks of radiation therapy and four months of chemotherapy. After these treatments, we went back into our "normal" lives and Cameron progressed well getting back into school and the day-to-day of being a little boy.

However, a routine MRI on March 19, 2010 showed his cancer had returned. On November 9th, 2011, Cameron finally conquered his battle with cancer when he opened his eyes to the joys of heaven. Even in these dark days, we know God has richly blessed us by putting so many wonderful people in our path during this journey and we are so very thankful for them all.

Happy Rainy Friday

It's been one of those weeks. Frustration abounds. Sadness fills my soul. We noticed this week that Cameron is having a lot of trouble seeing. The world, as he knows it, has suddenly become blurry. I'm so sad. When he lost his hair...it was hard. When he no longer could walk...it was hard. But this, well it is like a sucker punch and has truly knocked the breath out of me. He's been pretty quiet this week which has made EJ and I even sadder. I can't imagine what he must be thinking or feeling. Although he still manages to give me a smile...oh that precious smile that brings joy to my soul and breaks my heart at the same time. Why the suffering Lord...Why? But on a brighter note, his pain has been almost non-existant this week. He had some nausea and headaches on Wednesday but other than that, he hasn't complained much.

Yesterday was precious. Since Cameron was baptized, he has always looked forward to communion Sundays. And since he was unable to make service last Sunday, our sweet pastors made a house call...all three of them. So sitting in our living room, we shared communion. It was sweet, wonderful, refreshing, and a reminder that on the other side of this suffering, we have something unimaginable.
